We understand how important of a role your smile plays in your life, and we want to help you feel proud of your smile. Dental implants are a great solution for missing teeth because they benefit your appearance, your oral function, and your overall health.
The three-part design of dental implants is what makes them so revolutionary and successful among patients. An implant post, connecting abutment, and crown each play a vital role in helping you regain the ability to chew and smile confidently. The post fuses with your jaw bone, providing the same advantages as a tooth root, including jaw bone stimulation and prevention of bone loss. The abutment connects the post and crown, which is designed to match your other teeth. When all pieces are installed, you will be ready to show off your new smile.
The Biggest Advantages of Dental Implants
Dental implants are long-term solution for missing teeth. Unlike other tooth replacement options, dental implants are placed into your jaw bone. This fusion provides the needed support to attach the crown and allow for proper chewing. Other tooth replacement options, such as dentures, are unable to provide the same chewing power and must be replaced every few years.
Dental implants can support a variety of tooth restoration treatments. Originally, dental implants were designed to replace individual teeth. They can be used to replace a single missing tooth or several missing teeth. However, thanks to technological advancements in the dental field, dental implants can now also be used as bases for multi-tooth replacements. They can be used for implant-supported bridges or a fixed denture through full-arch restoration. Patients who previously thought dental implants were not the right solution may now be candidates for this restorative treatment.
The care for dental implants is minimal and easy to maintain. Because dental implants are self-supportive and permanent in the jaw, they do not require special care. Adjacent teeth do not need to support the implant and no special solutions are required to keep them clean. Dental implants can be easily maintained with a regular flossing and brushing routine. With proper care, dental implants can last a lifetime.
What happens during the dental implant treatment process?
At Greater Michigan Oral Surgeons & Dental Implant Center, we strongly believe in the importance of providing every patient with individualized treatment. We know that each patient has specific needs and preferences, and we want to ensure that you are always comfortable in our offices.
Your next appointment is the surgical appointment. Once we have administered your chosen form of anesthesia, your oral surgeon will make a small incision in your gum tissue and place the implant post into the empty tooth socket. Sutures may be placed, and you will wake up once the anesthesia wears off.
Over the next few months, it’s important that you maintain a diet of soft foods and keep your mouth clean. Your post-operative instructions will outline the steps you need to follow. Once you have fully healed, your restorative dentist will place your crown and you can enjoy all the benefits of your restored smile.
As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, we have been extensively trained to successfully place dental implants. Our team uses the latest implant techniques and technology available to provide patients with outstanding surgical care and achieve optimal results.

"The receptionists—they warmed up so quick with their smiles, and it’s almost like they know you personally. I felt right at home when I went in. Dr. Frey is an excellent oral surgeon. He puts you at ease, and, before you know it, the procedure’s over with, and you’re done. For any of my friends that live in Waterford, Michigan, I would not hesitate to recommend the services of Dr. Frey."

"I had to have four teeth extracted, and I needed implants put in. My bridge was getting loose — I already had two bridges in on each side — and they were getting loose, and it was pretty traumatic because I didn't want to lose my teeth at all. So I was referred to Dr. Lesneski, and I'm on my way. They were phenomenal, kind, said it was normal to be nervous. I felt fine once I came in. I had a sinus lift, bone grafting, and then the implants are in. I was really nervous and scared that it would be really painful; I have felt no pain. Dr. Lesneski is great. To everybody I know, everyone I meet, any clients that I have at work, I always refer them to him. I think anyone that has dental issues should come here to the Gateway Center and see him and his staff."

"I had to get a bone graft and an implant. I had a spot in my tooth where the adult tooth wasn't there, and it was really uncomfortable because I had to wear a retainer every day. I was really nervous, but they made me feel very welcome. It was very easy; it was a two-process thing. I came in one day to get my bone graft and then the next time, I came in to get my implant, and it was all super easy and quick. The staff was really welcoming and nice and friendly. Dr. Lesneski was super nice and super welcoming and made me feel very comfortable. I feel super confident now, and it's nice not having the problem of not having the tooth."

"I needed to have a bone graft, and an extraction, and an implant. I went to my dentist and they referred me to Dr. Lesneski. Staff is amazing. Staff is helpful; they're always willing to do anything you need, make you comfortable. Dr. Lesneski—he pulled my tooth. After he extracted my tooth, I thought it was going to hurt. It did not hurt. Then he did a bone graft, and then he did an implant. My dental implant feels like a natural tooth; you can't tell that it's there, it looks great, and it matches very well. They did a great job. Dr. Lesneski—he will make you laugh. He took his time; he didn't rush. It was incredible. They made me feel comfortable, and it did not hurt. I would recommend Dr. Lesneski to my friends and my family."

He made my husband Bob feel very comfortable. He was totally patient, able to answer every question that he had. I would give Greater Michigan Oral Surgeons a five-star rating because they deserve it."
