Born and raised in Michigan, Dr. Lehal was inspired to go into oral and maxillofacial surgery because he enjoyed studying the life sciences and felt that oral surgery is the perfect combination of dentistry and medicine. He enjoys being able to safely treat his patients and finds it rewarding when he is able to benefit others through oral surgery.
Dr. Lehal attended the University of Detroit Mercy, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Following dental school, he furthered his studies and began his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at St. John Providence Health System in Metro Detroit. During this rigorous 6 year residency, Dr. Lehal received hands-on training in the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery at St. John Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, Detroit Medical Center, and Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Also during this residency, he earned his Medical Degree (MD) from Wayne State University, completed a general surgery internship, and received extensive training in anesthesia of adults and children.
Outside of work, Dr. Lehal enjoys spending time with his family. He is married with two children and enjoys being outside, working out, and spending time with friends.
