Impacted Tooth Exposure Reviews
When teeth do not have enough room to erupt into their proper position, they can become "stuck" in or underneath the gums, at which point they are referred to as impacted. The most common impacted teeth are the canine teeth, located at the front of the mouth, and wisdom teeth. Impacted wisdom teeth are often treated through removal; however, canine teeth are crucial for proper teeth alignment and for chewing capabilities and cannot simply be removed. When a canine tooth is impacted, your oral surgeon will work with your orthodontist to expose the tooth from the gums and attach a bracket and chain to help pull the tooth down into its proper position.
Impacted canine teeth most commonly occur in adolescent patients, as this is when adult canine teeth begin to grow in. However, exposure and bonding treatment can be performed on patients of all ages. If you or your child has an impacted tooth in need of exposure, we are happy to schedule you an appointment with one of our oral surgeons. We have had past patients remark on our exceptional care, and several have even chosen to share their stories on our website. If you would like to know more about the exposure of impacted teeth and the high-quality care you will receive at our office, we encourage you to watch the reviews of past patients below.
