Born in Genesee County, Michigan, Dr. Thompson enjoys helping patients achieve a complete and healthy smile through restorative dental techniques.

About Dr. Thompson

Dr. Thompson became interested in prosthodontics through his passion for technology and felt rewarded for being able to improve lives through restorative dental treatments. A prosthodontist is a dental specialist who focuses on tooth restoration and ensures dental prostheses appear natural and function properly. Working in-house at Greater Michigan Oral Surgeons & Dental Implant Center allows Dr. Thompson to interact with patients directly, which expedites the treatment process.

Patients experience greater coordination of care by having a prosthodontist and a team of skilled oral surgeons all working together to plan treatments, take impressions, deliver temporaries, and perform surgery. Passionate about technology, he found a dental lab technology program at Ferris State University, where he started his pre-dental studies and discovered the unique harmony between technology and dentistry that prosthodontics provided.

During his senior year at the University of Iowa, the director of the prosthodontics department offered Dr. Thompson a position as a prosthodontic grad student, and Dr. Thompson accepted. After school, Dr. Thompson started his own oral surgery and prosthodontics practice in Grand Blanc, Michigan, where he served the community for 26 years before joining Greater Michigan Oral Surgeons & Dental Implant Center.
