About Dr. Leal

Dr. Leal’s skills span a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgery procedures. With a wealth of experience, a solid educational background, and a passion for staying at the forefront of advancements in the field, Dr. Leal has earned a reputation for excellence in oral surgery. Now, he brings the level of care made possible by his extensive experience to the people of Michigan by joining Greater Michigan Oral Surgeons & Dental Implant Center.


Education, Residency & Professional Experience

Dr. Leal became a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2002 after attending the University of Missouri at Kansas City. He completed both his initial Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery internship and his OMS Residency at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL, earning his Certificate in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2009.

Dr. Leal began practicing as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon at Central Arkansas Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2010. Since then, his patient-first approach to care has provided safety, comfort, and better oral health to the people of Little Rock, AR, Benton, AR, Fayetteville, AR, and Springfield, MO. He has previously served as the president of AXPM Dental Management’s OMFS Division and as the sole oral and maxillofacial surgeon onsite at both Arkansas Oral and Facial Surgery Center and Impact Oral Surgery.


Certifications & Affiliations

Dr. Leal is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He maintains certifications with various state dental boards, including an OMFS Specialty Certification with the Arkansas and Missouri State Board of Dental Examiners, General Anesthesia Certificates with both the Arkansas and Missouri State Board of Dental Examiners and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and an Office Anesthesia Certificate with the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He has ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications as well.

Dr. Leal’s memberships include the American Dental Association, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, the International Congress of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Missouri State Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Missouri State Dental Society, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. He was also affiliated with both Cox Health and Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO as an admitting provider for maxillofacial and mandibular trauma calls.


Hobbies & Interests

In his spare time, Dr. Leal enjoys traveling and cooking with his wife, Becki. He enjoys fitness, tennis, and outdoor activities like hiking and backpacking.
