About Dr. Aravindaksha

Dr. Shyam Aravindaksha is from India and became an oral surgeon because of his fascination with surgical procedures and the ability to treat complex oral and maxillofacial conditions. After earning his dental degrees, he worked at several practices before joining the team at Greater Michigan Oral Surgeons & Dental Implant Center. He was looking for a professional, family-oriented group of experts with friendly staff members and colleagues, and found the team at this practice closely aligned with his focus on patient care and creating a positive, efficient work environment.

Dr. Aravindaksha finds it rewarding to give back to his community and to alleviate people of pain. When a patient is nervous, he establishes a relationship of trust with them and their family. He listens to their concerns and assures them that they will be treated with the utmost care and compassion. It is his goal that the oral surgery experience be a positive and memorable one for every patient.

Education & Residency

Dr. Aravindaksha earned his BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) at Sree Balaji Dental College and Hospital in India in 1996, and his MDS (Master of Dental Surgery) from Saveetha Dental College in India in 2001. He completed 2 years of his oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, 1 year at LSU Shreveport, and 5 years at Emory Healthcare.

Certifications

Dr. Aravindaksha is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Michigan Dental Association (MDA).

Hobbies & Interests

Outside of work, Dr. Aravindaksha loves spending time with his wife, his two boys, and his puppy, Yoshi. He enjoys golfing, hiking, and biking.
